Folding Key - Close Up Magic
Magicians dating back over 100 years have been fascinated with gimmicked coins. One of the most popular has been the folding coin. This has been used for years to apparently place a borrowed coin into a bottle. In fact, Billy McComb featured this at the famous Palladium in London. Some time back the same effect was done with a key. However, the main problem with the folding coins and keys, was their construction. Sharp edges and a deep cut to hold the rubber band in place caused more failures than those would like to admit. Enter Joe Porper. Joe reinvented the folding apparatus within the key with an entirely different principle. What he came up with is not only ingenious, but he got rid of the "tell-tale" groove around the edge that was a dead giveaway if one examined the coin or key. The Porper engineering has made all the "work" internal. There is nothing to see. You can let the spectator handle this key without fear of detection. In addition to spare bands, a tool is included to make putting in new bands a snap. Pun intended. You are supplied with the specially machined folding key along with a duplicate matching ungimmicked key in a leather case. Also included are detailed instructions for a KILLER close-up routine wherein a borrowed ring penetrates off a car key and everything is fully examinable! Great detail and thinking and great craftsmanship.
